After a hiatus, Viennese collective Takeshi’s Cashew returns with a fresh sound, taking you on a psychedelic journey that spans everything from cosmic funk and krautrock to the soundtracks of vintage video games. It promises an evening that will transport you to uncharted worlds – places as danceable as they are dreamlike.
Since forming in 2019, the band has established itself as one of the most exciting acts in the burgeoning European psychedelic scene. Following albums like “Humans In A Pool” and “Enter J’s Chamber”, along with international tours, the six-piece returns with a new record, “Planet Odyssey 64”. Here, they trade in their broader world-music influences for a cohesive universe defined by analog synthesizers, hypnotic grooves, and nods to 1990s Nintendo classics.
Takeshi’s Cashew comes highly recommended to fans of Yin Yin, Altin Gün, and L’Éclair.
