Following the resounding success of their second studio album, “Malandra” (February 2026), and a rapidly growing reputation as a live act, Ão is hard at work on new music. They are set to release their third album on April 17, 2027, with the track ‘Sofrimento’ serving as a first taste.
Blending electronic music, art-pop “saudade”, and alternative Latin sounds, Ão has made a name for itself across Belgium and Europe in recent years. The quartet has evolved into a unique, boundary-pushing voice that defies genre categorization. Frontwoman Brenda Corijn draws on her Mozambican-Portuguese roots, singing in both Portuguese and English. Her warm vocals blend seamlessly with Siebe Chaude’s guitar work, Jolan Decaestecker’s layered electronics, and Bert Peyffers’ eclectic percussion.
Having already sold out Merleyn in the autumn of 2026, Ão is now returning in the run-up to their new album.
